Ball…Organise an evening with dinner and entertainment for work, friends and family. Make sure that you prepare a detailed budget so you know the costs and how much to price tickets at.

Car Rally…Have 2-4 participate in a car rally (ie follow clues, answer questions etc) meet at a central location with the final destination being..???  Charge an entry fee per car

Casual Days…Gold coin donation to dress casual or funky at school or work. Fridays are the best day.
Cinema Screening…

Chocolate Drive…

Coffee MoneyAsk staff to donate the equivalent of their coffee money for the week or month.

Collection Tin…In the workplace, your local shops or at home. The $2 shops have money tins really cheap

Community…Contact your local Scouts, Guides, Schools, Lions, Rotary etc to hold a special fundraising event for you.

Cricket…Challenge competitive companies, clients or suppliers – get the number of runs sponsored, charge for tickets, organise a sweepstake or raffle.

Dance Party… Organise a dance party with a latin, rock n roll, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, or modern theme,  charge for tickets, light supper and donate the proceeds.

Every coin counts…Collect silver or gold coins at your workplace and ask customers, suppliers or friends and family to do the same.

Fashion Parade…Fancy yourself as a bit of a fashionista? Ask your local fashion outlet to put on a show! You may have a big enough home or look for a free venue. Charge an entry fee and provide morning/afternoon tea or Chicken & Champagne lunch.

Fundraising race…Challenge other family members, friends, groups or teams to a race to see who can be first to raise $100 within a set period of time, 2-3 months. Winning group to win ‘Movie Pass’.

Garage Sale…Get rid of all your unwanted Bric-a-Brac.

Guest Speaker…Most community organisations are always after people to speak at their evening meetings, breakfast meetings. Your team leader will be able to help you.

Hundred Club…This is simply another form of raffle, except the person always has the same number. The club is limited to 100 tickets, and normally features a once-a-week draw. If you charge $2 a week and offer a weekly prize of $100, that leaves a profit of $100 a week. Taking this a step further, how about a Movers and Shakers Hundred Club? (or MASH Club, if you prefer). The idea is for 100 people to commit to giving $10 per month that’s $12,000 a year! Offer a monthly prize draw of $250, a quarterly draw of $500 and an annual draw of $1,000. That’s 17 winners a year and $6,000 profit!

Jewellery Making/SellingBuy beads and wire in bulk and get creative. Should be particularly profitable around Christmas time.

Jumble Sale…Dig around under the bed and at the back of wardrobes for anything you can sell and organise a jumble sale.

Karaoke A chance to share your singing skills, pay for a song or pay for any exemption ticket. Ask your local pub or club to donate their stage and karaoke equipment for the night.

Nearly New Sale…This is a posher version of a jumble sale. Be selective – only sell nice stuff that’s in really good condition. Buy the price tags with string and little gold safety pins to attach to the items for sale.

Party Plan Sales…Tupperware, Cosmetic, Lingerie, Clothes have a few friends around and enjoy an afternoon or evening.  You may not make a lot of money but you will have some great prizes for your fundraising events.

Plant Sale…Start potting cuttings, bromeliads etc, sell at a street stall (local council approval), classifieds in your local paper.

Quick Repairs…Good at mending and got some time on your hands? Offer your services for a small donation.
Quizzes…Quizzes are a sure winner because everyone loves the chance to show off their knowledge! Make it a fun event and offer drinks or light refreshments. Charge and entrance fee and award prizes.
Here are some quiz ideas:

  • Trivial Pursuits quiz: a great favourite. Invite teams to play on a knockout basis.
  • Local knowledge: quiz your friends and neighbours on your local area
  • Soaps: does anyone remember who shot JR? Soap questions old and new
  • All our yesterdays: 70s, 80s, 90s. Who won Wimbledon? Who ran the country?
  • Pop quiz: hugely popular with music fans of all ages.

Raffle…A traditional fundraising favourite. Rules and regulations do apply so check your state government website.

Recycling…Recycle aluminium cans. Scrap metal places will pay cash for cans. Have family, friends, work mates help you save cans or collect after a local community event. You will need some strong bags.

Sponsored ‘anything’…Make-up a sheet with name, contact ph number, pledged amount and paid amount, run off a few sheets and start getting sponsors. Here are just a few ideas for sponsored events: bike rides, rowing, rope slide, giving up smoking or drinking, horse riding, losing weight, longest moustache in a month, bushiest beard in a month, wall walking or abseiling, marathon darts, pram push, shaving heads/beards, longest shots at the local golf range, silence, swimming, keep fit, triathlon, dance marathon, wheelie bin challenge (this is an alternative bed push), go karting, walking..

Taste Testing… Fundraising groups with access to 150 or more people (including friends and family of members) can raise money by participating in organised taste tests in the greater Sydney and Melbourne areas. www.tastetesting.org

Trivia Quiz…Organise a quiz night and test the knowledge of staff/friends/family teams or persuade your local hotel/club to help by donating the takings from a regular quiz night.

Unsolicited Donations… Wear your Watoto shirt and knock on doors, everything is gratefully received.

Visit to the Vineyards…Organise a bus trip and add a little extra charge. Have some of the vineyards donate a bottle of wine and auction/raffle on the trip home.

Wardrobe Clearance…Take those I’ll never wear that again, but it’s too good to throw away clothes to a nearly new shop. Declutter for a good cause!

Website…Use the social networking, Facebook, Twitter to promote your events or donations.

Wine Tasting/Bottling…Hold a wine & cheese tasting night and charge people to attend. Contact your local liquor shop or winery for.  OR sell your own contact www.fundraisingwine.com.au

Xmas Cards…Instead of sending Christmas cards this year send an eCard ask your family and friends to do the same and donate the money you save on cards and postage.

Xmas Party or Drinks…Host a Street/Work/Family/Friends event. Keep it simple and ask everyone to pop a donation in an envelope and decorate your Christmas tree with the envelopes.

Y

Yacht Race…Do you know a few people who own yachts? Get them to enter a yacht race, with fun prizes for the winners. Have a BBQ lunch. Those that cannot sail can pay to be a deckhand.

Z

Zero Tolerance…Give up alcohol, cigarettes, coffee for a week or a month… see how much better you feel and donate the money saved.
